How to be cleared as a PIL Coach

Steps to Become a PIL Coach-

Complete Online Application  You will then click on the jobs tab, hit all jobs. All JV, JV2, Var Assistant and Middle School Coaches need to apply to the, High School Assistant/Middle School Coach - Job # 19251. You will then create an account. 

  1. Check with Athletic Director at requested school
  2. Athletic Director informs District Office of hire
  3. After being hired by school, contact the district to do new hire paperwork
  4. Complete online certifications and classes listed and give certificates to your Athletic Director

All Coaches (Paid or Volunteer) are required to attend the Coaches meeting for their season -

Fall 2019 - Wednesday, August 7th @ Roosevelt HS - 5:00
Winter 2019 - Monday, November 4th @ Cleveland HS - 5:00 
Spring 2020 - TBA

All coaches for a team, paid or volunteer, must be cleared prior to practice starting. 

Paid coaches must complete all OSAA/PPS required trainings before pay is to begin.

Background Check - Fingerprinting - need to make an appointment online through Field Print. Enter the following information when scheduling - Use the this address when scheduling  your appointment -

Fingerprint Cost - $94.50
$12.50 fee to schedule appointment
$82.00 fee for onsite fingerprinting

 

Volunteer Background Check - needs to be done every 3 years - This is done online starting around August

HR Paperwork - please print and complete the following forms:
 

  1. New Hire/Rehire Personal Information Form
     
  2. State and Federal Ethnicity/Race Form
     
  3. Policy Acknowledgement Form
    This form acknowledges that you have reviewed these Policy/Administrative Directives 
  • Criminal History Verification Form

 

  • W-4 must be completed online through PPS Self Service once you have been hired and have an active PPS email account

NFHS Certification - Fundamentals of Coaching class - cost is $50.

Do Not Take Sport Specific class
