Saturday the Portland Interscholastic League stages it annual PIL Showcase at Franklin High School for boys, Madison for girls, where all of the leagues' teams play a game under one roof. It's a fantastic idea that more leagues, boys and girls, ought to copy. Its a chance to bring the league together as one and watch a day's worth of games. I'll bet a few new friendships are made, as well as old ones reacquainted, at the PIL Showcase. It means giving up a home game for half of the league teams, but c'mon, have you seen some of the crowds for Tuesday games? Not giving up that much.
